24 Years of Research On Phone Coaching for Physical Activity

                                     ALLURE MAGAZINE
                                     August 2002 Issue
Article: "Call to Action" -  "In a report published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, researchers recruited 316 adults who exercised for fewer than 15 minutes a day but wanted to work out more. Over six months, roughly half of the participants received three 20-minute phone calls from behavioral health specialists who discussed exercise goals...the other half received pamphlets with exercise tips...but no phone calls. Results: the group that was telephoned reported exercising for an average of 30 minutes, 3 to 4 days a week, while the group that wasn't called worked out fewer than 3 times a week"
